2.c – Data Acquisition Hardware (HyperScope)

SciScan operates using National Instruments data acquisition hardware and has been written with a particular DAQ configuration in mind. It is advised to stick to the recommended acquisition hardware and to follow the associated wiring instructions.

Depending on the hardware configuration of the HyperScope (i.e. the type and number of Resonant and Galvo scan mirrors), there are 6 standardized DAQ-Packages available:

Each DAQ-Package will make use of a different wiring scheme. However, those have been optimised to minimise changes, e.g. for upgrading a HyperScope:

RGG_GG (full package) and RG_GG package

This package is used to control a ‘full’ HyperScope, containing 1 Resonant and 3-4 Galvo scan mirrors in two light paths:

GG_GG package

This package is used to control a dual light path HyperScope, containing  4 Galvo scan mirrors:

GG package (stand-alone)

This package is used to control a single light path HyperScope, containing 2 Galvo scan mirrors. Please also refer to 2.a – Data Acquisition Hardware (Galvo), as this package will make use of the same DAQ components for backward compatibility.

RG package (stand-alone)

This package is used to control a single light path HyperScope, containing 1 Resonant and 1 Galvo scan mirror. Please also refer to 2.b – Data Acquisition Hardware (Resonant), as this package will make use of the same DAQ components for backward compatibility.
